Job summary

Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to perform a variety of housekeeping duties across the hospital complex, ensuring a clean, sanitary environment and supporting continuous quality improvement and customer service goals. You will handle supplies, operate cleaning equipment, and work within policy guidelines to deliver safe patient care and comfort.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, ability to follow written and verbal instructions,

Qualifications

• A High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Able to demonstrate ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Demonstrates manual dexterity needed to operate cleaning equipment.

Responsibilities

• Select cleaning materials and supplies from supply room and transport to assigned area.
• Clean assigned areas per policy; use hospital-approved germicidal solutions for disinfection.
• Operate floor machines, scrubbers, vacuum cleaners and related cleaning equipment.
• Wash walls, windows and ceilings; clean fixtures and furniture; replace linens as needed.
• Notify supervisor of supply/equipment needs or any mechanical issues.
• Move furniture to access areas and return supplies to appropriate rooms.
• Maintain high standards of customer service and teamwork in keeping the hospital sanitary.
