Regions Hospital Clinical Engineering Technician I Job Description

This role involves executing the Medical Equipment Management Plan as directed by the department manager. There is potential for advancement to Clinical Engineering Technician II with relevant experience or when a vacancy arises.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, scheduled services, and related technical activities on medical equipment under close supervision.
  • Collaborate with internal care departments to plan and coordinate projects related to key medical equipment.
  • Maintain electronic records for equipment inventory, parts, and work orders.
  • Assess the condition of major medical equipment regularly.
  • Communicate with customers regarding equipment status and proper operation.
  • Assist other technical staff to ensure operational consistency.
  • Solve practical problems where standard procedures may not exist.
  • Interpret instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schematic form.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction, resolve problems, and identify process improvement areas.
  • Provide in-service training, presentations, and orientations for equipment.
Work Schedule:

Full-time, 40 hours per week, Day Shift.

Required Qualifications:
  • Education: Graduate of an approved clinical engineering electronics program, electronics program, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 0-2 years in clinical engineering electronics.
  • Licensure: Valid driver's license and meet insurability requirements per hospital policy.
