Job summary

The Jefferson Regional Main Hospital in Pine Bluff, AR invites applicants for a Clinical Engineering Lead Technician (FT Days). Typical hours are 7:00–3:30 with occasional evenings or weekends if needed, based in the Clinical Engineering Department.

The Lead Tech oversees maintenance, repair, and optimization of medical equipment, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance; trains staff, manages inventory, and conducts inspections.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; technical/associate degree preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in biomedical/ electrical engineering preferred.
• 5+ years in Clinical Engineering and 5+ years in electronic engineering.
• 5+ years using PC-based word processors and spreadsheets and data entry experience.
• Safety sensitive position with ability to work under stress and independently.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance, repair, and optimization of medical equipment and systems.
• Coordinate a team of technicians to ensure safety, functionality, and compliance.
• Train staff, manage inventory, and conduct equipment inspections.

Job Summary:

The Clinical Engineering Lead Technician is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and optimization of medical equipment and systems within a healthcare facility. This role involves coordinating with a team of technicians to ensure the highest standards of safety, functionality, and compliance with regulatory requirements. The Lead Technician will also be involved in training staff, managing inventory, conducting equipment inspections, and implementing preventive maintenance programs.

Clinical Engineer Lead Tech Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent required. Technical or Associate Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related field required. Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related field preferred.
• This is a safety sensitive position. **
• Ability to work under high stress situations.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team, including Physicians, Nurses and other Clinical Engineering staff.
• Must be self-motivated.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• 5+ years’ experience in Clinical Engineering or Bio-medical equipment.
• 5+ years’ experience in Electronic Engineering.
• 5+ years’ experience with PC-based word processors and spreadsheets.
• 5+ years’ experience in data entry.
