Inova Loudoun Hospital in Leesburg, VA seeks an RN Clinical Educator for the Operating Room to lead competency assessment and education for nursing staff. The role supports a high-acuity multispecialty OR with a commitment to patient safety and quality improvements.

The position requires a Master’s degree or BSN with enrollment in a Master’s program, 2 years of nursing experience in a designated specialty, and BLS certification with Virginia RN licensure eligibility.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or BSN and enrollment in a Master’s program at start.
• 2 years of progressive nursing experience in a designated specialty; 3 months as a preceptor.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association; licensed or eligible for licensure in Virginia as an RN.

Responsibilities

• Assess competency of new nursing staff using system strategies and focus on quality and patient safety goals.
• Integrate theoretical knowledge and evidence-based practice into educational experiences for staff at all levels.
• Prepare annual self-development plans and professional goals; seek opportunities for growth.
• Contribute to quality and safety initiatives across the organization.

Job Description

Inova Loudoun Hospitalis looking for an RNClinical Educator Nursingto work with the Operating Room.

We are proud to serve as a high acuity, fast paced, multispecialty operating room and as Loudoun County’s first and only designated trauma center - now Level 2. The Perioperative Services Team at Inova Loudoun Hospital supports 8 state-of-the-art operating suites, two special procedure rooms, and the latest technology in minimally invasive robotic surgery: the robotic-assisted daVinci® Surgical System and MAKOplasty® Total Hip and Knee. In addition to our regularly scheduled surgeries, our surgery department is staffed for emergency surgery, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.Our facility features 16 private Pre-Op rooms and 14 PACU bays where our patients are prepared for surgery and recover post operatively.We are a growing community hospital offering surgical services in: Trauma, General, Breast, Colon-Rectal, Gynecology, Urology, Orthopedics, Podiatry, Neurosurgery, ENT, Vascular, Thoracic, Maxillofacial and Plastic.

Clinical Educator Job Responsibilities

• Utilizes system strategies and tools to assess the competency of new nursing staff members while focusing on quality of care and patient safety goals.

• Prepares annual self-development plans, sets professional goals and seek opportunities for achieving them.

Hours:Full-time, M-F(regular office hours, with some flexibility as needed based on department needs)

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Master’s Degree or BSN and enrolled in Master’s program upon start. If RN has a BSN and enrolled in Master’s program, RN must meet with their Nurse Leader within 3 months to conduct the following:
  • Provide a written plan with anticipated Masters completion date
  • Submit a review of transcripts from the school indicating the required pre-requisites and timeline for taking the courses
  • Complete Masters within 3 years of start date.
• Experience: 2 years of progressive experience in nursing in designated specialty; 3 months of experience serving as preceptor
• Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association; Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state RN License.
