Inova Health System in Falls Church, VA, seeks an RN Clinical Educator Nursing to support the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR). This hybrid, full-time role focuses on onboarding, competency development, coaching and evidence-based practice for new and existing staff.

The position emphasizes patient safety, quality initiatives and professional growth, with hours Monday through Friday and flexible scheduling as needed.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree or BSN and enrolled in a Master's program to start.
• If RN has a BSN and is enrolled, meet with Nurse Leader within 3 months to discuss plan.
• Complete Master's within 3 years of start date.

Overview

Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is looking for an RN Clinical Educator Nursing to work with the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) department.

Our CVOR features state-of-the-art technology, including Stryker integrated video and a Philips single-plane Hybrid OR. This department comprises 7 operating rooms supporting all cardiac surgery services, including thoracic organ transplantation (heart and lung), mechanical circulatory support, structural heart, congenital, and advanced aortic surgery.

Clinical Educator Job Responsibilities

This hybrid role integrates the responsibilities of a Clinical Educator and Clinical Mentor, delivering formal education, competency development, coaching, and individualized professional guidance to support clinician onboarding, foster evidence-based practice, promote ongoing professional growth, and advance excellence in patient care delivery.

Hours: Full-time, M-F (regular office hours, with some flexibility as needed based on department needs)

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Master\'s Degree or BSN and enrolled in Master\'s program upon start. If RN has a BSN and enrolled in Master\'s program, RN must meet with their Nurse Leader within 3 months to conduct the following:

1. Provide a written plan with anticipated Masters completion date
2. Submit a review of transcripts from the school indicating the required pre-requisites and timeline for taking the courses
3. Complete Masters within 3 years of start date.

• Experience: 2 years of progressive experience in nursing in designated specialty; 3 months of experience serving as preceptor
• Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association; Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state RN License.
