Inova Mount Vernon Hospital in the Alexandria area is seeking an RN Clinical Educator Nursing to work with Adult Inpatient Critical Care units. This role focuses on integrating theory, evidence-based practice, and clinical expertise to advance nursing education and patient care.

Requirements include a Master’s degree or enrollment in a Master’s program, Virginia RN licensure, 2 years of progressive nursing experience in a designated specialty, and 3 months as a preceptor.

Clinical Educator Job Responsibilities:

• Utilizes system strategies and tools to assess the competency of new nursing staff members while focusing on quality of care and patient safety goals.

• Prepares annual self-development plans, sets professional goals and seek opportunities for achieving them.

Hours: Full-time, M-F (regular office hours, with some flexibility as needed based on department needs)

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Master's Degree or BSN and enrolled in Master's program upon start. If RN has a BSN and enrolled in Master's program, RN must meet with their Nurse Leader within 3 months to conduct the following:
  1. Provide a written plan with anticipated Masters completion date
  2. Submit a review of transcripts from the school indicating the required pre-requisites and timeline for taking the courses
  3. Complete Masters within 3 years of start date.
• Experience: 2 years of progressive experience in nursing in designated specialty; 3 months of experience serving as preceptor
• Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association; Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state RN License.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree is preferred but not required
• At least 3 years of Critical Care (ICU) RN experience
