Job summary

Phoenix Children's Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Clinical Educator to join the NICU team. The role focuses on teaching, coaching, and fostering evidence-based practice to strengthen staff knowledge and skills for safe newborn care.

You will develop education plans, support onboarding and competency, and promote professional growth among bedside staff, nurse leaders, physicians and therapists in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required.
  • Arizona RN license is required.
  • BLS certification for Healthcare Providers is required.
  • National Certification in clinical specialty and/or nursing professional development is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the educational department to support the department's strategic plan and growth.
  • Collaborates with other disciplines and evaluates outcomes as a change agent.
  • Engages in organizational efforts that support Phoenix Children's philosophy, nursing model of care and staff development.
  • Plans, implements and evaluates learning opportunities using evidence-based teaching strategies.
  • Identifies learning needs and develops education programs for onboarding and competency enhancement.

Position Summary

Posting Note: We are looking for a passionate Clinical Educator to join our NICU team. If you are an experienced neonatal clinician who enjoys teaching, coaching, and helping others grow through evidence based practice, we would love to hear from you. In this role, you will work with bedside staff, nurse leaders, physicians, respiratory therapists, and other members of the care team to strengthen the knowledge and skills needed to provide safe, high quality care for newborns and their families. You will identify learning needs, develop education programs, support staff onboarding and competency, and promote professional growth. If you enjoy teaching, coaching, and supporting others.

This position develops, implements, and evaluates proactive educational plans and programs to address staff and departmental needs to ensure ongoing enhancement and improvement of staff skills, competencies and professional growth in accordance with established standards, requirements and regulations.

Position Duties
  • Collaborates with colleagues within the educational department to support the departmental strategic plan and ongoing institutional growth.
  • Collaborates with other disciplines and departments as a change agent and participates in the evaluation of outcomes.
  • Engages in ongoing organizational endeavors which support the philosophy and values of Phoenix Children's, nursing, model of care and professional development of staff.
  • Plans, implements, and evaluates learning opportunities based on evidence using a variety of teaching strategies.

Position Qualifications
Education
  • 1. Bachelors degree in Nursing. Required
Experience
  • 1. One year experience in a preceptor or leadership role in the specific specialty area. Required
  • 2. Two years clinical pediatric nursing experience. Required
  • 3. Adult teaching experience. Preferred
Additional Requirements
  • 1. Current State of Arizona RN license. Required
  • 2. Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association. Required
  • 3. National Certification in clinical specialty and/or nursing professional development. Preferred
