Phoenix Children's is seeking an experienced Clinical Educator for the East Valley Emergency Department in Phoenix. This role partners with bedside staff, nurse leaders, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to build clinical excellence and support a culture of ongoing learning in a fast-paced pediatric ED.

Responsibilities include assessing learning needs, developing education programs, supporting onboarding and competency validation, and ensuring staff maintain knowledge and skills to care

Qualifications

  • One year experience in a preceptor or leadership role in the specific specialty area.
  • Two years clinical pediatric nursing experience.
  • Adult teaching experience.

  • Collaborates with other disciplines and departments as a change agent and participates in the evaluation of outcomes.

Position Summary

Posting Note: We are seeking an experienced and energetic Clinical Educator to join the East Valley Emergency Department. This role is ideal for a nurse who is passionate about emergency care, education, and preparing teams to deliver exceptional care in a fast paced environment. You will partner with bedside staff, nurse leaders, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to build clinical excellence and support a culture of continuous learning.

You will assess learning needs, develop education programs, support onboarding and competency validation, and help staff maintain the knowledge and skills needed to care for pediatric emergency patients. This position develops, implements, and evaluates education plans that strengthen clinical practice, improve patient safety, and support high quality care while meeting organizational and regulatory standards.

This position develops, implements, and evaluates proactive educational plans and programs to address staff and departmental needs to ensure ongoing enhancement and improvement of staff skills, competencies and professional growth in accordance with established standards, requirements and regulations.

Position Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelors degree in Nursing.

Experience

  • One year experience in a preceptor or leadership role in the specific specialty area.
  • Two years clinical pediatric nursing experience.
  • Adult teaching experience.

Additional Requirements

  • Current State of Arizona RN license.
  • Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association.
  • National Certification in clinical specialty and/or nursing professional development.
