Job summary

Roxborough Memorial Hospital, a member of Prime Healthcare, seeks a Clinical Educator for per diem daytime coverage. The role provides educational services to clinical staff and supports training programs to advance patient care.

You will work with Nursing Directors to implement education plans, conduct IV, EKG, and phlebotomy classes, and help with orientation. RN license and BLS required; 5 years acute care and 2 years teaching preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a current and valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of 5 years acute care experience.
• Minimum of 2 years previous educational experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Clinical Educator provides educational services for areas of clinical and patient care services to attain the Hospital's objectives, mission and values established by corporate administration.
• Supports corporate-wide programs, policies and procedures are developed to assess, evaluate and meet the needs of the patient.
• Assists with development and implementation of education plans for providing training in all clinical settings.
• The Clinical Educator provides hands on training for clinical staff to support the educational goals for the hospital.
• Implements an effective, ongoing training program to measure, assess and improve the quality of care, treatment and services delivered to all patients.
• The Clinical Educator shall work collaboratively with the Nursing Directors to provide educational services to staff.
• Per Diem Educator can expect about 20 hours per week on average.
• Expectation is to own certain facets of nursing education:
• IV class (6-hour class) 6 times a year
• EKG/Phlebotomy class for PCAs (2-hour class) 2 times a month
• Additional duties include:
• Rounding on the units when on site usually 1-2 hours
• Assist in the competency skills nursing fair 4 times a year: 2 are 8 hour days, 2 are 4 hour days
• Assist with orientation two times a month generally, the 1st and 3rd weeks of the month
• Provide shift coverage and operational support as needed.
