Job summary

Qualifications

  • Associate degree required; bachelor's preferred.
  • 2 years clinical acute care experience required.
  • ARC Instructor certifications in BLS required.
  • ACLS and PALS certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Instructs BLS/ACLS/PALS courses per ARC standards.
  • Sets up and cleans simulation equipment and materials.
  • Evaluates learners and provides feedback for mastery.
  • Maintains records of rosters and certifications.

Summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services is seeking a dynamic and experienced Clinical Education Training Center Instructor to support the development, delivery, and evaluation of clinical education and workforce development programs. This role is responsible for facilitating engaging learning experiences that enhance clinical excellence, support professional growth, and contribute to exceptional patient care throughout the organization.

The ideal candidate is passionate about education, skilled in adult learning principles, and committed to creating a collaborative learning environment for clinical and non-clinical healthcare professionals.

This role will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and other life safety or clinical training programs as designated by the Training Center. The instructor utilizes clinical knowledge, adult learning principles, and simulation-based education to prepare healthcare providers and staff to respond to critical events.

Responsibilities
  • Instructs and facilitates certification and re-certification courses in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and other programs according to American Red Cross (ARC) standards.
  • Prepares, sets up, and cleans up simulation equipment and training materials before and after classes.
  • Evaluates participant performance, provides constructive feedback, and ensures mastery of course content.
  • Maintains compliance with ARC instructor and course monitoring standards.
  • Keeps detailed and accurate records of class rosters, evaluations, and certification data.
  • Assists with curriculum updates and incorporation of best practices and feedback.
  • Participates in Training Center governance, staff development, and quality assurance initiatives.
  • Facilitates clinical simulation and debriefing.
  • Serves as a mentor and resource for new instructors and interdepartmental clinical educators.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree required, 3 years of additional experience can be substituted in lieu of degree. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 2 years clinical experience in an acute care setting required
  • American Red Cross Instructor certifications in BLS required.
  • American Red Cross Instructor certifications in ACLS and PALS preferred.
  • Experience with clinical instruction or teaching preferred.
  • Familiarity with adult learning principles and simulation equipment desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate learning in a dynamic classroom setting.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office and learning management systems.
  • Ability to handle and troubleshoot simulation and audiovisual technology.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learner populations and needs.
