The Role

Remote Telephone Consultation is at the forefront of patient care with significant development ongoing in this specialist field within the Integrated Clinical Hub (ICH) to equip skilled practitioners to provide first class clinical care for the people of Scotland.

You will work as part of the Clinical Duty Manager team, providing support to the clinicians working within the Integrated Clinical Hub.

The Integrated Clinical Hub interacts via Remote Telephone Consultation with over 13,000 patients per month in order to assess, consult and match our care to the patient’s needs. Patients are offered the most appropriate advice, signposting or response. SAS benefits from fewer ambulance resources being sent to those for whom an alternative is safe and often allows more rapid access to the care they require

We are seeking to recruit a forward thinking, outcome driven, improvement focused leader with patient care, staff welfare, quality and clinical safety at the forefront of their mind, to take on the role of Clinical Duty Manager to assist with the alignment of the Remote Consultation process, in particular focusing on our cohort of Senior Clinical Support Workers and the overall working practice within the ACC and regions.

The Clinical Duty Managers are an immediate point of contact for clinicians in the ICH and advocate for the role, its people, systems and processes. This role will allow for consistency across process, live time function, and clinical outcomes with leaders who understand the detail of the role and are looking to improve colleague experience. This role will work closely with the regional management teams, regional clinical leads and Integrated Clinical Hub leadership and frontline teams to ensure colleague experience and satisfaction is as high and rewarding as possible.

The ideal candidate will possess experience in a critical decision-making and change management environment, preferably with significant previous experience within a clinical setting. An understanding of the role of the Senior Clinical Support Manager would be advantageous. They will possess excellent communication, leadership and influencing skills with ability to analyse data, make evidence-based decisions and deliver patient focussed performance improvement.

PLEASE NOTE

This role is a test of concept and as such is currently advertised under a Clinical Duty Manager JD. The successful candidate may have responsibility for clinicians across the ICH and the final JD will be drafted as the benefits of these roles and its key areas of responsibility are better understood.
