U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) – James A. Haley VA hospital seeks a Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist (CDIS) who can perform all duties of MRT (Coder-outpatient and Inpatient) and act as a liaison between Health Information Management and clinical staff.

The position requires knowledge of medical terminology and coding knowledge, with responsibilities spanning inpatient and outpatient documentation improvement. Telework is ad-hoc; schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.

Responsibilities

• Review documentation in medical records and inpatient/outpatient encounters to identify opportunities for documentation improvement.
• Serve as technical expert in health record content and documentation requirements.
