Baptist Health in Jacksonville, FL seeks a Clinical Document Integrity Specialist to join the Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) team at Metro Square. This full-time day shift role focuses on improving documentation quality, accuracy and DRG assignment through collaboration with physicians, nursing and coding staff.

The ideal candidate has acute care nursing and coding experience, strong analytical skills, and a track record of cross-disciplinary teamwork to support compliant patient care

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of coding experience.
• 3–5 years of experience working in an acute care setting.
• Minimum of four years of acute care nursing experience.
• 3–5 years of utilization review experience preferred.
• 3–5 years of knowledge of Coding Clinic guidelines preferred.
• Leadership experience preferred.
• Education — ASN, BSN or MD; Licensure as RN/ARNP/NP/PA.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate improvements in clinical documentation quality, completeness and compliance through collaboration with physicians, nursing staff and coding staff.
• Conduct initial and concurrent reviews of patient admissions to ensure accurate documentation.
• Ensure documentation supports appropriate DRG assignments as agreed with physicians.
• Monitor patient status assignments and track case progress with approved tools.
• Serve as a resource to physicians and coding staff on clinical documentation issues.
• Identify opportunities to improve clinical documentation and reporting of patient care.
