Qualifications

The Children's SPOT Inc. is seeking a Clinical Director of ABA to oversee the ABA programs at our transdisciplinary centers in Columbia, MD, including our small Early Learner program for 12-15 autistic children ages 2-6. We provide speech, occupational, and ABA therapy to individuals with diverse abilities, following a child-led, play-based approach with highly individualized programming.

The Clinical Director of ABA Programs will oversee the Children’s SPOT ABA Program and the Early Learner Program, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, adherence to company policies, and the implementation of best practices in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy. The role involves providing leadership, supervision, and support to the behavior team, including Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs).

Program Oversight & Leadership
  • Ensure ABA service implementation aligns with clinical best practices, ethical standards, and regulations.
  • Supervise daily operations of the Early Learner Program.
  • Oversee ABA services for clients outside of the Early Learner Program.
  • Maintain and communicate company policies and expectations to all ABA staff.
Staff Supervision & Development
  • Provide supervision and mentorship to BCBAs, Lead RBTs, and RBTs.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and ongoing management.
  • Ensure staff follow policies and procedures, and implement disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Lead recruitment efforts, including interviewing, hiring, and onboarding.
  • Coordinate and deliver staff training and professional development.
Operational Management
  • Oversee and adjust staff and client schedules as needed.
  • Coordinate staff coverage for call-outs, including after-hours communication.
  • Conduct billing and session documentation audits with administrative staff.
  • Organize and lead staff meetings to provide updates, training, and foster team engagement.
Client Services
  • Conduct tours and intake assessments for prospective clients.
  • Oversee onboarding and review necessary documentation and policies.
  • Maintain a small clinical caseload (~12-15 billable hours/week), including treatment planning, RBT supervision, and parent training.
  • Ensure timely completion of session notes and client documentation.
  • Oversee session note audits.
Education, Training, and Experience
  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in psychology, special education, applied behavior analysis, human services, or related field.
  • Current BCBA certification.
  • Minimum of 3 years practicing as a BCBA.
  • At least 5 years of experience working with children, preferably in clinical settings.
  • Preferred minimum of 2 years managing a clinical team of 3 or more.
