Job summary

Women In Need (Win) is seeking a Clinical Director to lead trauma-informed care delivery across its transitional housing programs in New York. You will supervise clinical staff, standardize social work practices, and drive program improvement under a DHS-funded THRIVE NYC initiative.

Candidates must hold a NYS LCSW or LMHC with at least 3 years of experience, be proficient in Motivational Interviewing and TIC, and have strong collaboration skills; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling using trauma-informed and harm-reduction approaches.
• Build and maintain strong referral networks for mental health and substance use services.
• Lead implementation of evidence-based practices and develop clinical assessment tools.
• Deliver training in Motivational Interviewing and Trauma-Informed Care to staff.
• Provide clinical oversight, site support, and strategic input on mental health initiatives across programs.

Lead the Delivery of Trauma-Informed Care

THE ROLE

The Clinical Director partners with the AVP to lead the implementation of clinical services across Win's transitional housing programs. This role advances initiatives that strengthen and standardize social work practices, while providing critical feedback to Program Directors and staff to drive continuous program improvement. As part of a DHS-funded program under the THRIVE NYC initiative, the Clinical Director delivers clinical supervision and consultation, supporting trauma-informed care for families experiencing chronic homelessness or significant trauma.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Partner with Clinical Supervisors to ensure high-quality clinical case management for families and individuals
• Provide individual and group counseling using trauma-informed and harm reduction approaches
• Build and maintain strong referral networks for mental health and substance use services
• Lead the implementation of evidence-based practices and support development of clinical assessment tools
• Deliver training in Motivational Interviewing and Trauma-Informed Care to strengthen staff capability
• Provide clinical oversight, site support, and strategic input on mental health initiatives across programs

WHO YOU WILL BE

You will hold a current New York State LCSW or LMHC, with at least three (3) years of experience supporting individuals and families facing acute challenges, including homelessness, mental health concerns, substance use, trauma, poverty, and systemic barriers

You will demonstrate strong knowledge and hands-on expertise in Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Trauma-Informed Care (TIC)

You will bring proven clinical supervisory experience, with the ability to guide and support staff effectively

You will have solid computer proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft Office tools

You will have bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (preferred)
