Compensation: $90,000-$95,000 annually
Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Director and licensed therapist to launch and lead a new on-site day services clinic in Moline, Illinois.

This is a hands-on startup leadership opportunity for a therapist who wants to build a clinical program from the ground up. The Clinical Director will help establish the clinic’s clinical and administrative infrastructure, develop effective workflows and documentation systems, support hiring and onboarding, build a strong clinical team, and create the structure needed for consistent, person-centered services.

The ideal candidate combines strong clinical judgment with exceptional organization, follow-through, and operational leadership. This person should be comfortable moving between clinical supervision, staff development, compliance, problem-solving, and the practical work of getting a new program successfully established.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the clinical and operational launch of a new day services clinic.
  • Help build the clinic’s clinical systems, procedures, workflows, documentation standards, and quality-control processes from the ground up.
  • Support recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, training, and development of therapists and other clinical staff.
  • Provide day-to-day clinical and administrative leadership as the clinic becomes operational and grows.
  • Supervise, coach, and support therapists and other clinical staff.
  • Establish organized staff workflows, assignments, scheduling processes, deadlines, and clinical responsibilities.
  • Coordinate clinical services and promote consistent, person-centered care.
  • Review clinical documentation for quality, accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Monitor completion of assessments, treatment plans, progress documentation, reports, and transition or discharge records.
  • Provide clinical consultation regarding complex behavioral or mental health needs.
  • Monitor clinical outcomes and identify opportunities to strengthen program effectiveness.
  • Develop reliable administrative systems and follow-up processes for outstanding clinical, staffing, operational, or compliance needs.
  • Participate in clinical, administrative, and interdisciplinary meetings.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary care teams, organizational leadership, individuals receiving services, and their support systems.
  • Support staff development through supervision, training, coaching, and performance feedback.
  • Continuously refine clinic procedures and workflows as the program develops.
Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a closely related behavioral health discipline.
  • Current Illinois therapist/clinical license appropriate for independent behavioral health practice.
  • Previous experience providing behavioral health or therapeutic services.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising, leading, or coordinating clinical services.
  • Strong administrative, organizational, documentation, and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to create structure, establish processes, and manage multiple priorities, employees, deadlines, and clinical responsibilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and organizational leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
  • LCSW or LCPC preferred; other appropriately licensed Illinois therapists may be considered based on experience.
  • QIDP qualification or prior QIDP experience preferred, but not required.
  • Previous experience opening, launching, developing, or significantly expanding a clinic, program, or service line.
  • Previous experience as a Clinical Director, Program Director, Clinical Supervisor, Clinic Manager, or similar clinical leader.
  • Experience in a behavioral health clinic, day services program, community-based program, or human-services environment.
  • Experience supporting individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities, behavioral health needs, or complex support needs.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance, quality assurance, clinical documentation review, and staff performance management.
Benefits
  • Medical plan options, including PPO, Affordable Care Plan, Minimum Essential Coverage (MEC), and preventive-only coverage.
  • Dental coverage through Lucent with access to the Aetna dental network.
  • Vision coverage through EyeMed.
  • Virtual primary care, virtual mental health, and telemedicine through First Stop Health for employees enrolled in a major medical plan.
  • 401(k) retirement plan.
  • At least two weeks of paid time off during the first year of employment.
  • Eight observed paid holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
  • Employer-paid long-term disability and basic life/AD&D coverage for eligible employees after applicable eligibility periods.
  • Voluntary life/AD&D coverage available through UNUM.
  • Approved continuing education reimbursement or direct payment for professional-role-related education.
