Job summary

Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Clinical Director – Population Health for the Genomic Medicine Service (NEY GMS). You will lead regional genomics programmes, shape strategies with partner trusts, and promote equity in access to genomic diagnostics and treatments.

Qualifications

• Full GMC registration with licence to practice.
• Entry on the GMC Specialist Register or registered GP.
• Consultant-level clinician currently practising within a relevant specialty.
• Higher qualification in leadership, management, genomics, research or a related field.
• Fellowship of a Royal College.
• Formal leadership or management qualification (e.g. NHS Leadership Academy, MBA, PGCert Leadership).
• Extensive experience in genomic medicine and applying genomics in a specialty.
• Understanding genomic testing pathways and their application to patient care.

Responsibilities

• Lead Population Health genomics agenda across the NEY region.
• Provide strategic leadership for implementation of genomic programmes.
• Embed genomic medicine into routine clinical practice and reduce health inequalities.
• Drive innovation and improve patient outcomes through partnerships and governance.
