Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Spokane, WA is seeking Clinical Dietitians at the GS-7/9/11 levels to provide comprehensive nutrition care to Veterans as part of the health care team.

You will perform nutrition assessments using the Nutrition Care Process, develop patient-centered goals, collaborate with physicians and Food Service, and help ensure safe, satisfying dining experiences for Veterans. Applicants must hold RDN/RD credentials or meet the outlined exceptions for GS-7/9.

Qualifications

• United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
• RDN or RD credential with CDR registration is required.
• Non-credentialed Dietitians may be appointed at GS-07/09 if they meet degree and supervised practice requirements; credentialing must follow.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate nutrition care with Veterans, their caregiver, and other health care providers.
• Conduct nutrition assessments using the Nutrition Care Process and develop patient-centered goals.
• Collaborate with Food Service to enhance Veterans’ dining experience and ensure patient satisfaction.
