Job summary

The Veterans Health Administration is seeking a Dietitian (Clinical) in the Clinical Section of Nutrition and Food Services to act as the medical nutrition expert with autonomy in applying evidence-based guidelines for patients with complex needs.

The role supports a developmental path at GS-07/09, under supervision, performing nutrition assessments, applying the NCP, and contributing to safe, quality patient care and performance improvement initiatives within the hospital’s Nutrition and Food

Qualifications

• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) or Registered Dietitian (RD) and must be registered with the CDR.
• Non-credentialed Dietitians may be eligible for temporary appointment if requirements are met and credential obtained later.
• Master's degree from regionally accredited university or ACEND-recognized education program is expected.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nutrition assessments for patients using the NCP.
• Apply evidence-based nutrition guidelines to patient care.
• Collaborate with Food Operations to enhance patient dining experience and outcomes.
