Stamford Health, a well-established, award-winning healthcare system with multiple locations in CT, has an opportunity for a Per Diem Dietitian.

Job Summary

The Per Diem Clinical Dietitian serves as the Food and Nutrition Services representative in patient care activities, including assessing patients' nutritional status, developing care plans, monitoring nutritional status, counseling patients and/or significant others, and consulting with healthcare professionals. The Dietitian provides guidance and education on nutritional management, supports quality improvement, participates in hospital committees, and supervises staff in the absence of the Clinical Nutrition Manager.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical nutrition therapy through assessments and care plans to meet patient dietary needs and satisfaction.
• Educate medical staff and counsel patients and families on nutrition care.
• Participate in multidisciplinary teams and departmental meetings.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care.
• Collaborate with culinary and clinical departments on nutrition-related matters.
• Stay current with nutrition trends, research, and standards of practice.
• Support and consult with other dietitians and health team members.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and hospital policies.
• Contribute to community education and departmental standards development.
• Participate in performance improvement activities.
• Represent the department professionally and ethically, maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Promote teamwork and effective communication within the department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics or in a Master's program with clinical requirements completed.

Licensing/Certification/Registration

• Registered Dietitian (RD) and Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist (CD-N) or eligible, to be obtained within 60 days of employment.
• Per diem must have RD and CDN upon hire.
