Job summary

Rockaway Care Center in Queens, NY is seeking a Clinical Dietitian to provide nutrition care, conduct assessments, and develop personalized nutrition plans for patients with diverse medical conditions. You will collaborate with the healthcare team, educate patients and families on healthy eating and meal planning, monitor progress, and contribute to continuous quality improvement in nutrition services.

Candidates should have completed an accredited internship and hold or be eligible for NYS RD

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in dietetics, nutrition, or related field is required.
• Master's degree in dietetics or nutrition is preferred.
• Completion of an internship program in dietetics or related field.
• Registered Dietitian (RD) or Certified Dietitian (CD) credential.
• Possess or be able to obtain NYS certification as a Registered Dietitian.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nutrition assessments and develop personalized nutrition plans for patients with varying medical conditions.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
• Educate patients and their families on healthy eating habits, meal planning, and nutrition management.
• Monitor and adjust nutrition plans as needed to ensure patient progress and outcomes.
• Stay current with the latest research and evidence-based practices in nutrition therapy.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures.

Education
