Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college in Dietetics, Food Service, Food and Nutrition or related field.
• Completion of an accredited or approved supervised practice program.
• Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
• State certification/licensure to meet state laws for practice as a Dietitian.

Responsibilities

• Screens and assesses patients' nutritional risk factors per protocol.
• Prepares nutrition assessments and diet prescriptions based on intake and history.
• Plans nutrition care goals and follows up with documentation in the medical record.
• Consults with physicians and other health care professionals to determine dietary needs and restrictions.
• Maintains records, participates in policy discussions, and supports program development and education sessions.
• Precepts dietetics students and provides feedback on progress.
