Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast in Pasadena, TX is seeking a Clinical Dietitian to collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver Medical Nutrition Therapy across all ages. You will perform nutrition screenings, develop individualized plans, and monitor outcomes in a busy hospital setting.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Nutrition or Dietetics, ACEND supervised practice, and RD licensure; hospital nutrition experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics or equivalent.
• Completion of an ACEND-accredited supervised practice program.
• Registered Dietitian with licensure in the state.
• One to two years hospital clinical nutrition experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to provide Medical Nutrition Therapy.
• Perform timely nutrition screenings and assessments.
• Develop and implement individualized nutrition plans of care.
• Evaluate outcomes of nutrition interventions and adjust as needed.
• Provide nutrition education to patients, family and caregivers.

SCHEDULE:

• 7:30am-4:00pm or 8:00am-4:30pm (one on-call weekend rotation per month)

WORK LOCATION:

• Mon/Wed/Fri at Main Campus and Tues/Thurs at the Rehab facility (2.3 miles from the main campus)

Job Summary And Qualifications

To collaborate as a member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team to provide patients of all age groups and acuity levels with high quality Medical Nutrition Therapy following the Nutrition Care Process. Note: The following is not intended to be a finite list of responsibilities for this Clinical Dietitian position

• Performs timely nutrition screenings and assessments in accordance with the Corporate Screening and Assessment Policy
• Perform nutrition focused physical exams on patients who are at nutritional risk.
• Identify patients at nutritional risk based on established criteria
• Evaluate age specific, developmental and disease specific nutritional needs of patients
• Develop and implement individualized nutritional plan of care.
• Evaluate and monitor the effectiveness and outcomes of medical nutrition therapy interventions.
• Identify patient nutrition education needs and provide nutrition counseling to patients, family, and/or caregivers.
• Participate in the competency assessment process and achieve a passing score of 80% or higher on RD chart audits
• Adheres to nutrition care guidelines, the nutrition care manual, department/facility guidelines and/or protocols to provide evidence-based nutrition care.
• Integrates the Academy Code of Ethics in all areas of practice.

What qualifications you will need:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or equivalent required
• Completion of an ACEND-accredited supervised practice program required
• One to two years of hospital clinical nutrition experience preferred
• Licensure, Certifications, Training and Credentials:
• Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Required
