The Clinical Dietitian works closely with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to provide nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy aligned with patient goals. Responsibilities include developing and implementing nutrition services, managing resources cost-effectively, participating in performance improvement, and maintaining professional competency.
Patient Care: Identify patients at nutritional risk and provide expert assessment, monitoring nutritional status across all age groups, considering cultural, religious, and ethnic factors.
Nutrition Education: Offer age and culture-specific nutrition counseling, tailored to patient needs, conditions, and literacy levels.
Business/Supervisory Functions: Support departmental goals, attend meetings, and stay updated on activities and changes.
Performance Improvement: Participate in hospital improvement processes, collect and report data.
Professional Development: Maintain dietetic registration, pursue continuing education, and engage in professional growth activities.
