Overview

The Woodlands Hospital is a primary and secondary care hospital serving North Harris and Montgomery counties. Clinical services include cardiovascular services, diagnostic imaging, women’s services (digital mammography and bone density studies), neurosciences, pediatric care (Newborn and Level II nurseries), surgery, pathology, pulmonary services, and sleep disorders. Clinical affiliations include The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center’s Radiation Treatment Center and Texas Children’s Hospital.

As our Clinical Dietitian I, you will assess the nutritional status of our patients using recognized assessment tools. You will recommend and counsel patients, families, and caregivers on appropriate nutrition plans to improve health and well-being.

Every day, you will work with the general patient population and patients in more complex levels of care under supervision, performing nutritional assessments using age and gender-appropriate standards while considering cultural, religious, and ethnic backgrounds. You will conduct routine screenings to identify patients at nutritional risk and collaborate within an interdisciplinary environment to facilitate care for those needing a higher level of care, demonstrating excellent customer service to patients, families, and caregivers.

Responsibilities

1. Develop intervention plans including feeding routes, modes, and nutrition prescriptions tailored to patient needs, following physicians' orders.
2. Monitor and evaluate patient responses to interventions, meeting specific goals documented in the nutrition care plan in a timely manner.
3. Update care plans as necessary and follow up with patients as needed.
4. Collaborate within an interdisciplinary team to facilitate care and identify patients at nutrition risk or requiring higher-level care.
5. Work with Food and Nutrition Services to enhance patient experience.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's Degree with completion of an accredited dietitian program (ACEND).
• Valid registration as a Registered Dietitian with the CDR.
• State of Texas Dietitian license.

Pay Range

$37.00 per hour.
