Overview

The Woodlands Hospital is a primary and secondary care hospital serving North Harris and Montgomery counties. Clinical services include cardiovascular services, diagnostic imaging, women’s services (digital mammography and bone density studies), neurosciences, pediatric care (Newborn and Level II nurseries), surgery, pathology, pulmonary services, and sleep disorders. Clinical affiliations include The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center’s Radiation Treatment Center and Texas Children’s Hospital.

As our Clinical Dietitian I, you will assess the nutritional status of our patients using recognized assessment tools. You will take pride in recommending and counseling patients, family, and caregivers on appropriate nutrition plans to improve health and well-being.

Every day, you will work with the general patient population and patients in more complex levels of care under the supervision of a Clinical Dietitian II or Clinical Dietitian Lead. You will perform nutritional assessments using age and gender-appropriate standards, considering cultural, religious, and ethnic backgrounds. You will conduct routine screenings to identify patients at nutritional risk and collaborate within an interdisciplinary environment to facilitate care for those needing a higher level of care, demonstrating excellent customer service to patients, families, and caregivers.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop an intervention plan which includes appropriate feeding route, mode, and nutrition prescription tailored to the patient's specific needs, in accordance with physicians' orders.
  2. Monitor and evaluate patient response to interventions by meeting specific measurable goals documented in the nutrition care plan in a timely and thorough manner in the medical record.
  3. Update the plan of care as necessary and follow up with the patient as needed.
  4. Collaborate within an interdisciplinary environment to facilitate care and identify patients at nutrition risk or needing higher level of care.
  5. Work with the Food and Nutrition Services team to enhance the patient experience.
Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree with completion of an accredited dietitian program - ACEND (Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition Dietetics).
  • Valid registration as a Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
  • State of Texas Dietitian State license.
Pay Range

$37.00 per hour
