Job summary

DLH Corporation seeks a Scientific Programmer to develop secure clinical IT systems in support of the National Institute on Aging (NIA) IRP. You will work in a DevSecOps-based Agile environment with clinicians, researchers, and vendors to deliver compliant software for clinical data collection and integration across NIA sites.

The role requires HL7, DICOM, PACS proficiency, front-end and back-end development (HTML/CSS/JS, Perl/PHP/Ruby, PostgreSQL/MySQL), and strong documentation and security

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, bioinformatics, health information, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in clinical application programming or health IT systems development.
• Proficiency with HTML/CSS/JavaScript for frontends and backends with Perl, PHP, or Ruby and PostgreSQL/MySQL.
• Proficiency with HL7, DICOM, and PACS protocols in development of clinical applications.
• Experience with Git for source control and Puppet for configuration management.
• Experience in DevSecOps-based Agile software development and secure coding standards (OWASP/US-CERT).
• Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, debug, and implement stand-alone, web-based, and multi-tier applications for IRP, NIA.
• Create responsive frontends using HTML/CSS/JavaScript.
• Develop backends with Perl, PHP, or Ruby and PostgreSQL/MySQL.
• Apply HL7, DICOM, and PACS protocols in clinical applications development.
• Use Git and Puppet to manage code and infrastructure.
• Work with various DB engines (Oracle, Postgres, MySQL, SQL Server).
• Support DevSecOps-driven development cycles and secure coding practices.
