Job summary

Baptist Health in South Florida is seeking a Medical Records Specialist to support the Health System across 8 Acute Care Hospitals, outpatient services, and ambulatory centers. You will track physician delinquency, notify medical staff of pending actions, and help enforce compliance with CMS and Joint Commission standards.

The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to travel between facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in health information management, health services administration, or related field preferred.
• RHIT or RHIA certification preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in medical record functions in an acute care setting.
• Ability to travel between hospitals to perform job duties.
• Typing 25 wpm and passing standard Word and Excel testing.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of CMS and TJC accreditation standards.
• Detail-oriented and able to meet deadlines under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Track and trend Physician Delinquency Reports.
• Send timely notifications to Medical Staff regarding pending delinquent records and actions for non-compliance.
• Report non-compliant physicians to Hospital and Medical Staff Leadership to enforce Suspension List.
• Prepare reports and graphs for Medical Record Committee and Joint Commission meetings.
• Work as part of a team to meet individual and departmental goals.
