Job summary

UCI Health in California seeks a Clinical Cytogenetics Laboratory Scientist to independently perform a wide range of technical procedures in the Cytogenetics and Genomics section under the Clinical Manager. You will support method development, instrument repair, sample processing and data entry.

Requirements include a California state Cytogenetics CLS license, a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and at least 10 years of laboratory experience in karyotype and FISH studies of cancer samples.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of regulatory requirements in cytogenetics, safety and lab operations.
• Ability to perform calculations and maintain data accuracy in reports.
• Evidence of strong customer service and communication skills.
• Knowledge of lab concepts, new methods, and quality assurance.
• Ability to work independently with licensure scope in cytogenetics.
