Responsibilities

• Allocate human resources to promote efficient, effective, safe and compassionate nursing care using the unit-based staffing matrix.
• Maintain safe, compassionate nursing care based on current standards and practice; provide input into unit-level decisions.
• Provide education and training based on staff needs while ensuring clinical competencies meet standards.
• Staffing and scheduling using the staffing matrix; assist in payroll completion and employee evaluations.
• Assist in on-call responsibilities and, when needed, serve as a staff nurse.
• Promote open communication and continuity of care across nursing and other healthcare disciplines.
