Job summary

US Pediatric Partners is seeking a Clinical Coordinator to support pediatric patient care and flow within a clinic setting. You will guide patients through visits, take vital signs, document in charts, and assist providers during exams.

The role emphasizes compassionate patient care, teamwork, and adherence to HIPAA guidelines. Responsibilities include coordinating patient flow, managing supplies, training new staff, and ensuring compliance with clinical guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a pediatric medical practice preferred.
  • Ability to speak, read and write effectively.
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Ability to coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines in a detail-oriented manner.

Responsibilities

  • Escort patients to exam rooms, interview patients, measure vital signs, and document information in patient charts.
  • Instruct patients about medications and diets as instructed by the provider.
  • Explain treatment procedures to patients.
  • Prepare patients for examination.
  • Assist the provider during patient exams.
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens.
  • Perform basic laboratory tests.
  • Keep exam rooms stocked and maintain instruments and supplies.
  • Prepare and administer medications as directed by the physician.
  • Perform blood collection following established procedures and OSHA standards.
  • Remove sutures and change dressings.
  • Maintain logs and required checks (e.g., fridge temps, emergency meds)
  • Triage messages from patients and front office staff to providers.

What a day looks like as a Clinical Coordinator
  • Escort patients to exam rooms, interviews patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patient's chart.
  • Instructs patients about medications and special diets as instructed by the medical provider.
  • Explains treatment procedures to patients.
  • Prepares patients for examination.
  • Assists the provider during patient exams.
  • Collects and prepares laboratory specimens.
  • Performs basic laboratory tests.
  • Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required.
  • Prepares and administers medications as directed by the physician.
  • Performs blood collection following established procedures and utilizing universal precautions in accordance with OSHA standards.
  • Removes sutures and changes dressings.
  • Maintain all logs and required checks in accordance with assigned duties (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, cold sterilization fluid change, etc.).
  • Triage and process messages from patients and front office staff to providers.
  • Met position requirements and performs essential functions.
  • Completes all mandatory training as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Clinical Coordination
  • Provide training for new clinical staff.
  • Oversee patient flow within the clinic.
  • Manage inventory of medical supplies and equipment.
  • Monitor adherence to clinical guidelines and protocols within the clinic.
  • Support implementation of new processes, guidelines, and equipment.
  • Serve as VFC coordinator.
  • Monitor on-site lab and ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines.
Requirements
Qualifications
  • Experience in a pediatric medical practice preferred.
  • Working knowledge of computer applications; prior experience with electronic medical records preferred.
  • Ability to speak, read and write effectively.
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Ability to coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines, in a detail-oriented manner.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
  • Indoor, temperature controlled, smoke free environment.
  • Exposure or potential exposure to blood and bodily fluids may be required.
  • May at times work under stressful situations.
  • Handicapped accessible.
  • Good visual acuity and ability to verbally communicate.
  • Ability to lift, lower, push, pull, and retrieve objects weighing a minimum of 25 pounds.
