  • Assist with evaluating clinical sites and identifying opportunities for expansion and improvement of clinical learning experiences.
  • Stay informed on healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, licensing requirements, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with faculty and external partners to align clinical activities with program outcomes and accreditation expectations.

Job Description: Clinical Coordinator

Department: Health & Public Service

Reports To: Dean of Health & Public Service

Pay Classification: Faculty (Min Starting: $55,000)

FLSA Status: Exempt

Job Summary: Provides leadership and coordination for clinical education experiences within assigned health science programs: ADN, VN, Echo, Vascular and EMS clinical sites. Responsible for coordinating clinical placements, maintaining partnerships with healthcare facilities, supporting student success initiatives, and ensuring compliance with institutional, accrediting, and regulatory standards. Assists with instructional support, program effectiveness, and continuous improvement efforts within the Health and Public Service division.

Minimum Required

Education: Master’s degree in a related healthcare field; or a combination of experience and education that yields the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Must hold a current license or privilege to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Texas.

Minimum Required

Experience: Three years of clinical experience as a licensed healthcare professional.

Experience coordinating or supervising clinical education experiences.

Preferred:Experience in higher education instruction or clinical education and working with accreditation, compliance, or regulatory processes.

Core Duties and
Required Knowledge:

Coordinates and maintains clinical education experiences, including student placements, schedules, and clinical rotations.

Maintains and monitors clinical affiliation agreements, contracts, student records, and compliance documentation.

Supports instructional activities, student advising, retention initiatives, and student success efforts within assigned programs.

Assists with evaluating clinical sites and identifying opportunities for expansion and improvement of clinical learning experiences.

Maintains knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, licensing requirements, and clinical education best practices.

Maintains knowledge of curriculum requirements, student learning outcomes, and clinical evaluation processes.

Utilizes healthcare documentation systems, institutional technology systems, and Microsoft Office applications to support program operations and reporting.

Supports compliance with Hill College policies, procedures, mission, and institutional standards.

Strategic Vision and
Program Development:

Assists with the development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical education processes and program initiatives.

Participates in program assessment, accreditation preparation, and continuous improvement activities.

Assists with identifying and securing additional clinical partnerships to support enrollment growth and program expansion.

Supports strategic planning efforts related to student success, clinical placement capacity, and workforce readiness.

Participates in professional development activities to remain current with healthcare trends, industry standards, and instructional practices.

Collaboration:

Collaborates with faculty, staff, healthcare agencies, and community partners to support clinical education experiences and student learning outcomes.

Serves as a liaison between Hill College and clinical affiliates regarding schedules, requirements, expectations, and compliance matters.

Communicates effectively with students, faculty, administrators, and clinical personnel regarding program policies and clinical requirements.

Participates on institutional committees, advisory groups, and program meetings as assigned.

Works collaboratively with instructional and administrative departments to support division and institutional goals.

Physical Requirements:

Medium work: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. The use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of force greater than that for light work.
