Job Summary The Clinical Coder extracts clinical information from a variety of medical records and assigns appropriate procedural and diagnostic codes to resident records. Accurately assigns and sequences ICD-10-CM diagnostic and procedural codes and/or E&M and procedural codes to patient records for use in reimbursement and data collection.
Education: High School / GED Experience: 1-3 years
Certified Medical Coder with one of the following active certifications (CPC from AAPC; or CCA, CCSP, CCS from AHIMA) preferred or; Licensed Practical Nurse or; Certified Medical Assistant or; Certified Nursing Assistant
Sitting, standing, bending, reaching, stretching, stooping, walking, and moving intermittently during working hours. Must be able to lift at least 50lbs. Must be able to maintain verbal and written communication with co-workers, supervisors, residents, family members, visitors, vendors, and all business associates outside of the health campus.
