Job summary

Mille Lacs Band is seeking Environmental Services Technician D1 to support clinical, dental, and Health and Human Services facilities. Perform routine cleaning, disinfection, glass cleaning, and floor care with emphasis on infection control. Flexible with schedule and able to support community events as needed.

Three positions available in the HHS Environmental Services unit. Requires a high school diploma or GED and background check, with preference for custodial experience and HIPAA awareness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED certification required.
• Previous janitorial, custodial, or housekeeping experience strongly preferred.
• Additional training in basic infection control and disinfection techniques desirable.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
• Uses supplies and chemicals in a cost-effective manner while providing a clean and safe environment.
• Must follow a schedule for regular cleaning of all areas assigned.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple dissimilar projects/tasks.
• Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug test.

Responsibilities

• Following established policy and procedures of Health and Human Services: Environmental Services Department.
• Completes tasks that are scheduled daily, weekly and monthly.
• Provide a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout Health and Human Services.
• Operates and uses all cleaning equipment safely, effectively, and according to manufacturer’s instructions.
• Empty waste receptacles, garbage, and waste baskets and transport to the dumpster.
• Cleans, disinfects, dusts, vacuum, sweep, mop all necessary areas and fixtures to maintain a clean environment.
• May conduct periodical general building checks.
• Notify direct supervisor when supplies are needed; repairs or hazards.
• Follow safety rules and regulatory requirements; other duties as assigned.
