Qualifications

• Medical Office Assistant Associate’s degree.
• Associate’s degree plus one year of clinical secretarial experience with medical terminology.
• High School diploma or HSED plus Roswell Park-approved Medical Assistant certificate and the equivalent of one year of full-time secretarial experience in a clinical setting requiring the use of medical terminology.
• High School diploma or HSED plus the equivalent of two years of full-time secretarial experience in a clinical setting requiring the use of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Provide clerical support in an assigned inpatient or outpatient center(s).
• Answer routine inquiries; screen calls; assist visitors and patients.
• Record and transcribe physician orders; maintain and coordinate clinic schedules.
• Manage the co-pay collection process.
• Perform duties in a confidential environment under direct supervision with limited latitude for judgment and initiative.

Education

Medical Office Assistant Associate’s degree

Associate’s degree plus one year of full-time clinical secretarial experience with medical terminology

High School diploma or HSED plus Roswell Park-approved Medical Assistant certificate and one year of clinical secretarial experience

High School diploma or HSED plus two years of full-time clinical secretarial experience with medical terminology
