Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Clinical Care Technician (CCT) for the RWJ Hamilton facility in Hamilton, NJ. You will join a collaborative nursing team, assisting RNs with vital signs, mobility and personal care while ensuring a safe, compassionate environment for patients.

Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, phlebotomy, EKGs, infection control, and accurate documentation in EHR. This per diem night shift role requires a High School Diploma and a current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CNA certificate preferred or clinical nursing program experience.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living activities and provide nursing care including taking vital signs, EKGs, and phlebotomy.
• Monitor vital signs and document patient health status.
• Document patient information in electronic health records with confidentiality.
• Follow infection control protocols to maintain a safe patient environment.
• Communicate with patients, families and providers to coordinate care plans.
• Support emergency response with Basic Life Support (BLS) as needed.
• Provide patient care appropriate to age and clinical criteria.
• Contribute to plan of care from admission to discharge for safe transitioning.

As a Clinical Care Technician (CCT), a typical day may include:

• Assisting patients with activities of daily living and providing nursing care to patients including taking vital signs, EKGS, performing phlebotomy, assisting with bedside care, i.e. bathing, mouth care, skin care.
• Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to track patient health status
• Document patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems while maintaining strict confidentiality
• Implement infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff, adhering to facility policies
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to coordinate care plans and address concerns
• Support emergency response efforts by applying Basic Life Support (BLS) skills such as CPR when needed in acute situations
• Providing patient care, based on physical, education, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients
• Providing for effective and safe patient outcomes through practice, judgment and critical actions
• Ongoing communication with patients and nursing colleagues regarding status of patient’s care
• Participating in collaboration of our patient's plan of care from admission to discharge to ensure safe transitioning

To be considered for this CCT opportunity, you must have a High School Diploma / GED and a current American Heart Association BLS certification. Previous nursing assistant experience or clinical experience from an accredited nursing program is preferred or a CNA certificate. Includes some holidays.
