Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Ensures patient identification and maintains safety, privacy, and HIPAA compliance.
• Obtains and records vital signs, pain screens, weights and heights in EMR.
• Obtains specimens and ensures accurate labeling; instructs patients on specimen collection.
• Performs phlebotomy and EKG as applicable; adheres to two-patient-identifier practice.
• Transports patients, records, specimens, and supplies per Institute policy.
• Maintains stock of medical supplies and assigns necessary forms.
• Prepares medical records and ensures proper equipment and environment.
• Maintains working knowledge of clinical computer systems and phone/pager communications.
• Communicates patient and family status and concerns to appropriate staff.
• Attends mandatory training and annual competency assessments.
