Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs, record into EMR, and report abnormalities to nursing/medical staff.
• Perform phlebotomy and EKG as applicable and ensure two-patient-identifier practice.
• Collect specimens (urine, stool, etc.) and instruct patients/family on collection.
• Transport patients, records, specimens, and supplies per policy.
• Assist with procedural needs and research data entry as required.
• Maintain stock of supplies and prepare medical records as needed.
• Keep clinical areas clean and equipment maintained; ensure computer systems are up to date.
• Communicate patient/family status and wait times to staff and providers.
• Attend mandatory training and annual competency assessments; adhere to HIPAA and privacy guidelines.
