Clinical Assistant - Twin Cities Orthopedics

Description: The Clinical Assistant provides patient care in the clinic and handles related administrative duties. This is a part-time (0.9 FTE) position with variable daytime hours Monday-Friday, and occasional night and weekend shifts within the Orthopedic Urgent Care. Coverage locations include Maple Grove, Plymouth, and Robbinsdale. Twin Cities Orthopedics is part of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health), a physician-led group of local medical practices committed to empowering patients in their healthcare.

Essential Functions:
  1. Prepare, stock, and clean exam rooms.
  2. Room patients and prepare them for exams.
  3. Maintain efficient clinical flow.
  4. Gather and verify patient information; document medical data.
  5. Assist with documentation into electronic health records.
  6. Prep for injections, change dressings, apply medical equipment, and remove sutures/staples under provider supervision.
  7. Apply and remove casts.
  8. Ensure coding requirements are followed during data entry.
  9. Support medical orders entry as a prescribing delegate under provider supervision.
  10. Support multiple specialties as needed.
  11. Assist Care Coordinator with patient services.
  12. Manage medical supply inventory and ordering.
  13. Screen and respond to patient calls, documenting all messages.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High School diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Certified Athletic Trainer (AT-C), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology required.
  • Knowledge of diagnostic procedures, pharmacology, and treatment assessments preferred.
Benefits & Compensation:

Starting pay varies based on education, skills, and experience. A $1,500 sign-on bonus is offered, payable on the first paycheck with a 12-month commitment. Internal applicants are not eligible for the bonus. Benefits include Medical, Dental & Vision plans, Maternity Bundle, 401K with Profit Sharing, Tuition Reimbursement, Gym & Car Rental Discounts.

Essential Requirements:
  • Ability to complete CPOE upon hire if necessary.
  • Compliance with policies, procedures, laws (HIPAA, Stark, OSHA, etc.).
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work during clinic hours and travel within the clinic.
  • Physical ability to handle bending, lifting, standing, and sitting.
  • Work efficiently, handle interruptions, meet deadlines.
  • Professional communication and interaction skills.
  • Prioritize tasks and adapt to operational needs.
  • Logical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Operate equipment and communication systems effectively.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
