Description
The Clinical Assistant is responsible for providing patient care in the clinic and related administrative duties.
This is a part-time (0.9 FTE) position working variable hours Monday through Friday at our Maple Grove, Plymouth, and Robbinsdale clinics. The role also includes various evenings and weekend shifts within our Orthopedic Urgent Cares as needed.
Twin Cities Orthopedics is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health), a group of local medical practices owned and led by physicians, with a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare.
Essential Functions:
- Prepare, stock, and clean exam rooms
- Room patients and prepare for exams
- Maintain an efficient, organized clinical flow
- Gather and verify pertinent patient information; compile patient medical data
- Assist with documentation of patient data into electronic health records system
- Prep for injections, change dressings, apply durable medical equipment, and remove sutures/staples under provider direction
- Application and removal of casts
- Ensure coding requirements are followed during entry of patient information
- Act as a prescribing delegate to enter medical orders (e.g., medications, laboratory services, imaging studies) into the computerized provider order entry (CPOE) system under provider supervision
- Able to support multiple specialties
- Assist Care Coordinator with patient care services, medical supply inventory, and patient communication as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School diploma/GED or equivalent required
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Certified Athletic Trainer (AT-C), or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA); or equivalent experience strongly preferred
- Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology required
- Knowledge of diagnostic procedures, pharmacology, and treatment assessments preferred

Essential Requirements:
- Complete the CPOE upon hire if necessary
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines

- Work during clinic hours and travel within clinic locations as needed
- Handle tasks efficiently, handle interruptions, and meet deadlines

- Work independently with minimal supervision
- Travel to other locations if required
