Position Description Clinical Assistant Professor or Lecturer
The Clinical Assistant Professor/Lecturer is a full-time, 10-month faculty position that is focused on teaching undergraduate didactic and clinical nursing courses (at area healthcare centers) with a focus on nursing care delivery for diverse populations (with a focus on community health, maternal child, or pediatric groups). Key working relationships include those with other faculty members, as well as with adjunct faculty/preceptors who administer clinical education at the clinical affiliates. The position is a 10-month/year, clinical, non-tenure track, academic position in the School of Nursing, which is part of the College of Health and Human Services at Indiana University Northwest. This position reports to the Director of the School of Nursing and includes service responsibilities, which may involve participation at the department, division, campus, and/or community level.Major Responsibilities and Duties
Responsibilities for the position will include teaching undergraduate/graduate didactic and clinical nursing courses; assisting with curricular development, implementation, and evaluation; mentoring to students; community service/shared governance activities; as well as conducting independent and/or collaborative research (required for tenure-track position; encouraged in other ranks).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Rank dependent upon educational preparation, experience, and preference
· Current clinical practice experience
· Knowledge of simulation medical high-fidelity simulators and systems (e.g., Laerdal and Gaumard)
· General knowledge of servers, databases, and web applications (e.g., Microsoft 0365, Python, HTML, and WordPress)
· Certified Nurse Educator (CNE)
· DNP/PhD
· Certified Family Nurse Practitioner
· Experience working with diverse populations (with a focus on community health, maternal child, or pediatric groups)
