Chapman University in Irvine, CA invites applications for a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor in the MS in Communication Sciences and Disorders, at the rank of Non-Tenure-Track Assistant Professor, beginning Fall 2027. The position requires expertise in child language development, autism, and school-age language and literacy.

The appointee will teach courses, supervise clinical practicum, and collaborate with local schools and hospitals to provide clinical education across diverse settings.

Qualifications

• Master of Sciences or Master of Arts graduate degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Science with excellence in clinical education
• ASHA Certification in Speech-Language Pathology
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in California
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical teaching/coordination/supervision
• Strong communication, organizational and mentoring skills
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with colleagues in clinical education
• Proficiency with information technology and online tools

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in child language development, autism, school-age language and literacy and/or clinical practicum
• Opportunity to teach Capstone course with student research projects
• Provide regular service expected from a full-time faculty member
