Job summary

Chapman University’s Crean College of Health and Behavioral Sciences invites applications for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders for Fall 2027. Area of expertise is open, with preference for candidates with a strong research background and potential in acquired or developmental language disorders.

The CSD program is located on the Irvine campus and offers accredited graduate programs and extensive clinical and research facilities.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in Communication Sciences and Disorders.
• Clinical Certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist (ASHA).
• Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to mentor and collaborate.
• Emerging research portfolio with potential for growth in language disorders.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and disseminate research in area of expertise.
• Seek and obtain extramural funding for research.
• Teach primarily in area of expertise and contribute to Capstone course.
• Be involved in faculty governance and perform service duties.
• Maintain active research agenda for tenure review.
