Job description

The Department of Human Sciences and Design at Baylor University invites applications for a full-time, fully remote Clinical Assistant Professor in Architecture to teach in its inaugural Master of Architecture (M.Arch) program. We seek a candidate who is dedicated to innovative teaching, program development, and meaningful student engagement. As a Christian university, Baylor seeks faculty who have an active Christian or Jewish faith and who will support its mission by fostering academic excellence within a caring, faith-informed community.

The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in design, with an active role in shaping the program. This position is responsible for developing and teaching design studios and core lecture courses, such as graduate-level design studio, site and programming, building systems, portfolio workshops, and electives on a rotating basis. In addition, the faculty member will support academic services, program accreditation, as well as other efforts to help shape and grow the program.

This is a remote position. It is a renewable, non-tenure-track, full-time, 12-month, and teaching-focused role. Because the M.Arch program is delivered in a hybrid format, periodic travel to Waco, TX, is required for designated in-person activities, including program Immersions and course development.

As part of the Baylor family, eligible employees receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, generous time off, tuition remission, and outstanding automatic retirement contributions.

  • medical, dental, and vision insurance, generous time off, tuition remission, and outstanding automatic retirement contributions.

To the extent that a faculty or staff member is benefits eligible, Baylor has a comprehensive benefits plan that supports you and your family’s wellbeing and allows you to be a part of the life of a vibrant and active college campus.

Applications are due October 12, 2026.

The anticipated start date for this position is June 2027.
