Job summary

St Johns Health in Jackson, WY is seeking a capable Medical Assistant/Clinical Support to join our on-site team. You will perform administrative and clinical duties under the direction of a physician, including scheduling, chart preparation, and patient communication by phone.

Clinical tasks include preparing patients for examinations, taking vital signs and histories, obtaining an electrocardiogram, collecting specimens, and giving injections, with opportunity to support our care across the ENT

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Preferred: Medical Assistant certification or CNA.
• Prior clinic or medical experience required; computer skills necessary.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient record ensuring all records are in the electronic chart for the physician to review.
• Interviews patients to obtain past medical/surgical/social/family history; reconciles medications in the EMR.
• Obtains vital signs including height, weight, heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, pulse oximetry and blood pressure.
• Assists MD in educating patients and families about health status, prevention, maintenance, and management of ENT conditions.
• Answers phone calls and documents follow-up in the medical record; assists front office with scheduling.
• Coordinates care across the health care continuum including follow-up appointments, referrals, and scheduling of procedures.
• Communicates efficiently with RNs and providers to ensure safe and thorough patient care.
