Job summary

The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Odessa is seeking a Clinical Assistant in the Ob/Gyn clinic to support patient care under direct supervision from a physician or nursing supervisor. This full-time role combines clinical and clerical duties in a busy outpatient setting.

Responsibilities include taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, assisting during examinations, giving injections, drawing blood, sterilizing instruments, and maintaining electronic health records

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Graduation from an approved certified program for assistants in the area of required specialty. Certification by an approved accredited certifying agency in the specialty in which the particular work will be performed.

Position Description

Employees in this classification provide patient care management to an assigned clinic in the areas of clerical and clinical duties. In the clinical setting, the employee receives direct supervision from a physician or nursing supervisor in either oral or written form. In the office setting, the employee receives direct supervision from the department administrator. Work is performed under usual office and clinic conditions, and may be stressful when working under emergency conditions.

Visa Information

TTUHSC, at its sole discretion, may initiate new H-1B I-129 visa petitions in accordance with the directive issued by Governor Abbott. Approval from the Texas Workforce Commission is required.
