The Clinical Assistant is responsible for providing patient care by assisting with diagnostic tests, procedures, and treatments ordered by the physician.
This full-time position works Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm at our Edina location.
Colon & Rectal Surgery Associates is part of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health), a group of local medical practices owned and led by physicians, committed to giving patients more control over their healthcare.
Essential Functions:
- Escort patients to their rooms, obtain vitals, and document patient history.
- Prepare rooms for specific visit types as needed.
- Assist providers with pre- and post-operative appointments and procedures.
- Distribute patient education pamphlets upon request.
- Process referrals by providing patients with scheduling information.
- Assist patients with completing informed consent forms prior to procedures and send them to Medical Records.
- Handle calls regarding patient health issues, document, and route calls appropriately.
- Call in new prescriptions and refills after provider review and approval.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School diploma/GED or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Diploma or equivalent as a Medical Assistant, Military Medic, strongly preferred.
- Certified Nursing Assistant or Direct Support Professional Certifications preferred but not required.
- 1-2 years of recent medical clinic experience preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, detail orientation, and commitment to quality patient care.

- Starting pay varies based on education, skills, and experience.
- Sign-on bonus of $1,000: $500 after 6 months and $500 after 1 year of employment. Internal applicants are not eligible.

- Complete the Certified Provider Order Entry (CPOE) if necessary.
