Job description

Position Summary:

Yeshiva University’s Katz School of Science and Health is seeking a full-time non-tenure track faculty member to teach in an undergraduate Nursing Program in the position of Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing and Director of Clinical Simulation and Skills Labs.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop and write assignments and coursework taught in the undergraduate Nursing Program.
  • Teach in both lectures and laboratories.
  • Provide remediation instruction to ensure student success.
  • Provide academic advisement for undergraduate nursing students.
  • Collaborate with members of the Katz Nursing faculty and other University faculty.
  • Participate in student recruitment events and retention initiatives.
  • Participate in Katz School scholarship activities and projects.
  • Serve on Nursing Program and University committees and provide professional service.
  • Participate in Nursing Program assessment and accreditation-related projects, reports, and site visits.
  • Oversee and coordinate laboratory resources staff to ensure that the proper equipment and supplies are in the proper rooms at the proper times and in working order.
  • Establish, administer, and maintain policies and procedures that dictate the overall operations of the labs.
  • Strategically plan and facilitate utilization, growth, and efficacy of clinical skills and simulation labs.
  • Participate in interprofessional learning activities that encourage and develop skills that support patient-centered, team-delivered, and interdisciplinary care.
  • Represent the Nursing Program at University committees, activities, and events, as well as conferences, and other professional meetings related to simulation and clinical education.
  • Schedule lab facilities, resources, and staff to support curricular and extra-curricular use by faculty and students, including working with advisement and registrar to determine room assignments for each semester’s clinical classes and labs.
  • Oversee database management, and partner with faculty and administration to establish protocols and mechanisms that define, track, and report on utilization and outcomes.
  • Administer inventory controls, support Purchasing (including requesting quotes from vendors and suppliers), and facilitate maintaining necessary stocks of disposables.
  • Keep abreast of new equipment/technology used in the field of nursing and obtain information on said equipment for consideration of purchasing.
  • Assist with the attainment and maintenance of accreditation of individual and facility simulation certifications.
  • Participate in the hiring, orienting, and training of personnel, technicians, and educators in collaboration with nursing leadership.
  • Participate in other special projects and initiatives, and perform other duties as assigned.

Experience & Educational Background:

  • This position requires a current RN licensure, registration in New York State.
  • A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Nursing.
  • Prior teaching experience and specialty certification in simulation are strongly preferred.

Salary Range:

$120,000 - $150,000
