Qualifications

Description

The Clinical Applications Manager leads the team, processes, and technology that support Georgia Urology's clinical application portfolio. This position is responsible for supervising Clinical Application Analysts, overseeing application support and optimization, managing vendor relationships, and driving process improvements that enhance clinical workflows and operational efficiency.

The Clinical Applications Manager partners with clinical, operational, and IT leaders to ensure applications are effectively implemented, maintained, and aligned with organizational goals. This role oversees the lifecycle of clinical applications, including planning, implementation, support, training, upgrades, and ongoing optimization.

The Clinical Applications Manager is responsible for Georgia Urology's clinical technology portfolio, including but not limited to NextGen (EMR, PM, Portal, Mobile), Phreesia, PACS, LIS, laboratory interfaces, Dispensary, Radix/Dash, Mirth, and other integrated healthcare technologies.

Requirements
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manage and support the Clinical Applications team, including workload prioritization, coaching, performance management, and professional development.
  • Lead the implementation, optimization, support, and ongoing management of clinical applications, ensuring alignment with organizational and operational needs.
  • Assess clinical, administrative, and financial workflows to identify opportunities for process improvement, technology enhancements, and increased user adoption.
  • Oversee application support processes, including issue resolution, vendor management, upgrades, enhancements, and system performance monitoring.
  • Partner with clinical, operational, and IT leaders to prioritize initiatives, improve workflows, and maximize the value of clinical technology investments.
  • Develop and maintain application documentation, workflows, policies, procedures, training materials, and best practices.
  • Coordinate user training, audits, go-live activities, post-implementation support, and retraining efforts as needed.
  • Support data integrity, reporting, and system configuration activities within NextGen and other clinical applications.
  • Stay current on healthcare technology trends, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices to ensure applications remain compliant and effective.
Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, Computer Science, Business, or related field required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) years of healthcare technology, clinical applications, or healthcare information systems experience.
  • Minimum two (2) years of leadership, supervisory, project leadership, or people management experience.
  • Experience managing enterprise clinical applications, electronic medical records, or healthcare technology platforms.
  • NextGen EMR/PM administration experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience leading teams, projects, process improvement initiatives, and vendor relationships.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid Georgia driver's license and reliable transportation required.

Work Environment: Normal office environment with minimal physical demands.
