Job summary

Crossroads Inc. is seeking a Clinical Aide to support medication administration, audits, and coordination with pharmacies and doctors within a fast-paced behavioral health setting in Chandler, AZ.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, CPR/First Aid/Narcan training, a valid Fingerprint Clearance Card, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Some travel between sites and varied shift options (days/nights) may apply.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with EHR/EMR systems and basic computer skills.
• CPR/First Aid/Narcan training required.
• Fingerprint Clearance Card required; background check performed.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with self-administration of medications.
• Document all medications on arrival and ensure return at discharge.
• Keep medications and medication room secured and organized per policy.
• Perform routine and random medication audits with supervisor.
• Coordinate with medical practitioners to keep client records updated.
• Ensure health screens and TB tests are completed within 7 days of admission.

Job Title: Clinical Aide FLSA: Non-Exempt

Company Summary: Crossroads is an Arizona Department of Health Services licensed substance abuse treatment provider with proven expertise in serving men, women, and Veterans with Substance Use Disorder through the provision of high quality, successful, and affordable residential and outpatient recovery programs.

Due to federal contracts the following items are prohibited: Medical/Recreational marijuana, current parole, or probation.

Job Summary: The Clinical Aide (CA) primary responsibility is to assist clients with self- administration of medication to clients, medication audits, working with Pharmacies and Doctor’s offices to ensure compliance with policies and procedures, and perform other duties as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Essential Functions

• Assist clients with self-administration of medications.
• Document all medications upon arrival to a facility and ensure all medications are returned to the client at time of discharge.
• Keep medications and medication room secured and organized per policy and procedures.
• Perform routine and random medication audits to include proper documentation and accurate distributions/returns with assistance from Program Manager or Assistant Program Manager.
• Work with clients’ medical practitioners to have medication orders in client records.
• Work with organizational care managers and university faculty to ensure all clients have a health screen and tuberculosis test within seven (7) days of admittance into the program.
• Work with other qualified staff members on medication policies and procedures.
• Documentation regarding medication changes and coordination of care.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Crossroads Medication Policy.
• Perform other duties, as required.

Qualifications

• Must meet Arizona Department of Health Services personnel member requirements of: at least 21 years old; or licensed or certified under A.R.S. Title 32 and providing services within the personnel member's scope of practice.
• Current CPR/First Aid/Narcan training.
• Current and annual negative TB Test.
• Current and valid Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check performed annually and upon hire, preferred.
• Successfully pass a background check and an Arizona Department of Health Services Adult Protective Services check.
• Current “Assistance with Self Administration of Medication” training.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Familiarity with EHR/EMR records systems.
• Computer applications/Microsoft Office knowledge preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively at multiple levels, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 to 3 months related experience, and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Environment

• Fast paced behavioral health residential setting.
• Primarily indoors, however, some outdoor
  work may be requested.

Physical Demands

• While performing job duties, the employee is regularly required to sit and speak or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, reach hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and seldom lift and/or move >100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

• Days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Travel

• Valid AZ Driver’s License.
• May include travel between sites and other locations.
• Local and statewide travel when requested or required.
